Banned Ingredients That Protect Your Ocular Health
Our Commitment to Safe, Eye-Friendly Beauty
That’s why we maintain one of the most rigorous “Never Lists” in the beauty industry. The ingredients below have been banned from our formulations due to their potential to irritate the eyes, disrupt the tear film, block meibomian glands, or harm overall ocular health. Many are also linked to skin sensitivity, hormone disruption, or long-term health concerns.
Harmful Cosmetic Actives
Ingredients We’ll Never Use
Whether banned by global regulatory bodies, flagged by the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), or clinically known to cause eye damage, these ingredients simply don’t meet our standards—and never will.

❌ Ingredients We Prohibit Include:
- Harsh preservatives and formaldehyde releasers
- Prostaglandin analogues and lash-enhancing agents that compromise gland health
- Retinoids and acids known to inflame or thin delicate skin
- Sulfates, PEGs, parabens, phthalates, and drying alcohols
- Heavy metals like lead, mercury, and aluminum compounds
- Nanoparticles, synthetic glitters, coal tar dyes, and talc
- Fragrance and known allergens
- Cosmetic “actives” commonly marketed in skincare but proven harmful to the eyes
If it wouldn’t be safe to use around the ocular surface in a clinical setting, it doesn’t belong in our formulas—period.

We Stand Firm on Safety
This list may be long—but that’s the point. We’re not here to make compromises. We’re here to make cosmetics that care for your eyes the way only doctors can.
